In fact, Babu's actual name is Babu Ram Bogati, however he is more popular as just Babu Bogati. He has two other siblings -- an elder and a younger sister. He spent some part of his childhood at his birth place -- Bhojpur, and the rest he spent at Letang. Since his childhood, Babu Bogati has been friendly as well as a mischievous person.

He shares, "There used to be a time when every Thursday, a haat bazaar was organized at Letang. I was studying in class four then. Along with some of my friends, I used to attend the haat bazaar and steal nuts from the vendors. My friends used to occupy the seller with nonsense talk and on the other hand I used to steal. Once, my mother caught me red handed and gave me a proper thrashing. Then on, I never indulged myself in such activities." Initially, he received his basic education in one of the local schools of Bhojpur. When he was in class three, his family migrated to Letang and he got admitted at 'Letang Awasiya Madhyamik Bidhyala', from where he received his School Leaving Certificate (SLC). He had a keen interest in music and always wished to study it seriously. With this dream of his, he got admitted at Lalit Kala. Now, he is doing his BFA in music.

ENTRY IN THE MUSIC SCENE

From his early days, Babu Bogati had made it a point to participate at cultural shows. When he was 12 years old, he had already started taking part in various stage shows and used to love dancing. During that time, he also used to sing songs on stage. His friends and neighbours always complemented his singing capabilities and this motivated him to strongly follow his passion for singing and acting.

After completing his SLC, in 1998, he came to Kathmandu for further studies as well as to try his luck in music. In the beginning, he joined 'Rastriya Naach Ghar'. There, he learned music for a period of one year. In 1999, he was selected to participate at the 'National Singing Competition'. It was then that he recorded a song "Sir Mathi Sagarmatha' at Om Mega Recording Studio. He was also lucky to be supported by his family. Because of this help, in 2000, he was able to release his debut album 'Pulchowk Patan'. However, the album vanished without much notice and didn't establish him as a singer which he thought it would. During the same period, he got through the voice tests at Radio Nepal. In 2004, he released his second album 'Request'. This album introduced Babu Bogati as a talented singer with immense potential. The songs on it "Pheri Tyo Din" and "Janey Mayalu" were instant hits and the song "San Nani" written by his mother, reached unprecedented heights of popularity. As of now, he is busy working on the details for his next release 'Result'.

ME/MYSELF

I am a lazy bone. Seriously, I am a lazy person! I am a bit reserved as well. I take time to interact with new people. I don't think twice while speaking. I am too direct and blunt sometimes! I don't think twice before saying something! I believe that one should respect seniors and love the juniors and I follow that. I am disciplined and an honest person.

LOVE AND MARRIAGE

Love happens, one does not need to go looking for it. Love is the most beautiful thing that can happen and one should be open to this. I think love and music is somewhat similar. Everyone loves...directly or indirectly! Marriage is made by society and someday or the other, one should definitely get married. It is not that I have not fallen in love...I had and now I am out from it. I think, now I just don't believe in this relation. Love brings joy as well as sufferings. That is the reason why I fear to fall in love again.
