Sanjeev Singh was born to Mr. Raju Singh Mrs. Gita Singh on November 26, 1979 at Dilli Bazzar, Kathmandu. During his childhood days Sanjeev was of a very serious nature. He used to be an introvert. He spent his childhood days at his maternal grandmother's place. His grandfather Subha Bahadur Sunam and his uncle Manoj Sunam and Deepak Sunam were renowned figures in the Music scene. Somehow, could not continue his studies further in spite of him wanting to.
ENTRY INTO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY
As mentioned above, he was raised up in a very musical environment. Since the very beginning music had a profound influence on him . He was also a good guitar player. By the time, he was 14 he had already started singing at the top five star hotels in the capital -- Yak & Yeti, Soaltee, Annapurna, Everest and even at Country Villa. During that time he used to sing cover versions of International artists. Thus, began his career as a truly gifted musician.
Sanjeev has not received any formal trainings on music except for a six month stint under Sharda Chhetri. He learned to play the guitar and the keyboard when he he stayed at his grandparents' place.
As he used to be pretty tied up singing at various hotels, wider audience eluded him. After five years, that is in 2002 he made his debut with his first album 'Akash Bata'. The songs "Akash Bata", " and "Chulesima" in particular were able to create quite a few ripples in the market. Sanjeev Singh had finally arrived!
In 2004 he released his second album 'Soul'. This album was also able to do quite well in the market. In 2005, he came up with his third album 'Unplugged'. This too did equally well commercially.
